Raison d’être of EMCC Belgium

EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) is an international non-profit organisation whose mission is to promote and develop the practices of mentoring, supervision and professional coaching. The EMCC aims to establish high ethical and professional standards in these areas, as well as to provide support and recognition to practitioners of coaching, mentoring and supervision.

The main reasons for existence of EMCC are as follows:

1. To develop and promote excellence: EMCC aims to promote excellence in coaching, mentoring and supervision practices by establishing rigorous ethical and professional standards. The organization encourages its members to undertake training and professional development programs to improve their skills and expertise.

2. To support Practitioners: EMCC provides a support network for practitioners of coaching, mentoring and supervision, providing them with resources, tools and opportunities for continuous learning. The organization organizes workshops and events where practitioners can meet, exchange knowledge and share experiences.

3. To recognize and accredit: EMCC offers certification processes for coaching, mentoring and supervision practitioners, which helps recognize their skills and professionalism. EMCC accreditations provide validation and credibility to practitioners, and can be used as a competitive advantage in the marketplace. The same goes for structures offering training in coaching, mentoring, and supervision.

4. To represent the profession: EMCC plays a representation role for the coaching, mentoring and supervision profession to government agencies, professional organizations and the general public.
