DESCRIPTION:Mentoring with a Coaching Attitude \nby Sylviane Cannio (in Fre
nch and English)\nLet op: datum gewijzigd! (verplaatst naar 18 Feb 2025)\n
Vanaf 18:45 - 20:30 More than 70% of Fortune 500 companies offer some so
rt of mentoring programme. Despite this high prevalence and known benefits
of mentoring for the organisation and the individual\, data on the positi
ve impact of mentoring is still sparse. Therefore\, there is an unmet need
and opportunity for HR professionals.\nLack of structure\, mismatching of
mentor and mentee\, absence of training and performance metrics\, are som
e of the common reasons for suboptimal mentoring programmes. In addition\,
the blurring of boundaries between the two disciplines of coaching and me
ntoring\, is resulting in further misconceptions. While they use similar f
oundational skills\, coaching and mentoring are two different tools from t
he same toolkit.\nYet it is possible to embed some of the coaching practic
es into mentoring\, especially to better structure the programs and make s
ure we do not enter a ‘know it all – don’t know anything’ posture between
mentor and mentee. During the session\, Sylviane Cannio will share the Men
toringCo model\, a framework for establishing corporate mentoring programs
and where some elements of coaching are inserted.  She will also provide
insights and guidance on how to ensure mentoring programs “stick” and deli
ver sustainable impact and benefits to the organization.\nThe theme create
s bridges between two professions\, mentoring and coaching and\, therefore
\, creating the ‘unity in harmony’. This is why we speak here about Mentor
ing with a Coaching Attitude.\n \nTakeaways: This session is designed to h
elp the audience:\n\nRefresh their knowledge on the evolution of mentoring
over the years\nExplore the complementary nature of coaching and mentorin
g\nExchange experiences and good practices in setting up corporate mentori
ng programs for success\nGain an appreciation to why mentoring is very muc
h alive and in demand\nSee if mentoring could be threatened by AI in the f
